The
Exploratorium’s volunteer needs change depending
on current exhibitions, programs, and projects. Describe
your interest and skills in your profile, and we will
look for a volunteer position that is a good match.
(We can only offer positions that are currently open.)
Volunteers sometimes choose to move from one area
of volunteer support to another upon completion of
the first assignment. All positions are unpaid, and
all volunteers must be at least 15 years old.
These
volunteer positions are available for individuals.
We also offer short-term volunteer opportunities for
corporate groups, school groups, and
families. Over the course of a year, these are

Done-In-A-Day
(for corporate groups)
Corporate volunteering is a growing trend in the business
community. Many corporations like to offer volunteer
opportunities to their staff as a way of giving back
to the community that supports them. Others use it
as a team-building resource, or as in the case of
salesforce.com, part of their orientation program
for new hires!
If
your group is interested in a Done-In-A-Day project
here at the Exploratorium, please complete the brief
group application form
and the Manager of Volunteer Services will contact
you directly. If you have any questions, please feel
free to send an e-mail
or call (415) 561-0364 and leave a detailed message.
