Christina Conklin shared indigo dyeing techniques and Alex Warren revealed secrets to making paints such as the rare Fra Angelico blue. The de Young museum's Julian Cox toured 150 years of color photography. Biologists Ned McAllister and Karen Kalumuck discussed blues in nature, and the documentaries Blind Gary Davis and The Blues Accordin’ to Lightnin’ Hopkins set the mood for the night's performances, which were broadcast live by KPOO 89.5 FM.
This After Dark event was presented as part of ColorFest, a two-month extravaganza featuring over 30 color-related exhibits, film programs, adult seminars, performances, and hands-on activities.
