CILS
Program Direction
The direction of CILS is guided by the cross-institutional
CILS Steering Group, with advice and critical feedback from
the CILS Advisory Group. CILS' Advisors are drawn from
different worlds (universities, museums, and policy) and different
fields (education, psychology, natural sciences) all of whom
bring their unique expertise to the Center.
CILS Faculty
CILS faculty are leaders in their respective fields, including
informal learning, science and mathematics education, developmental
psychology, the natural sciences, and formal K12 education.
This wide range of relevant expertise and perspectives is
the cornerstone of CILS innovative research and programs.

CILS Participants
CILS participants include postdoctoral researchers, graduate
students, and museum-based teacher educators. For all programs,
CILS accepts participants who are interested in informal learning
and intend to pursue careers relevant to CILS central mission
goals, typically in either a traditional academic research
trajectory, or in museum education. View
