The
Color Contrast exhibit consists of
a long table with a vertical backboard mounted at about
eye level. This backboard supports four different sets
of silk-screened panels. Each panel features two large
squares of color which contain varying numbers of small
squares of different colors. Along the front edge of
the table are paddles mounted in tubes. Each paddle
has a small square of color at the end, with an opening
to look through. Visitors use the paddles to compare
the colors of the smaller squares on the back panels.
In some cases two small squares of the same color look
different, while in others, small squares of different
colors look the same.
