Cyber Lumen

Cyber Lumen is the most recent version of the "Kinetic Light Series" by Christian Schiess. Cyber-Lumen utilizes a variable speed motor, high voltage commutator, electric gas discharge power supply, and rotating tubes of neon, argon, krypton, or multicolored phosphor coated luminous gas discharge tubes. The variable controls include: 0-150 RPM, light intensity, frequency/flash rate, and brightness pulse control. These interactive controls allow the viewer to create a variety of colors, patterns, after image and other visual effects. The phenomena demonstrated include electric gas discharge, variation of discharge voltage, frequency and capacitance, after-image and other perception effects.
