Persistence
of Vision presents the whole picture even if only a
part of it is seen at a time. The exhibit consists a
long tube with a slot at the end of it, which is held
to the eye and moved back and forth rapidly with the
slot oriented vertically. Even though only a part of
the scene is viewed at one time, the tendency of the
eye to retain images allows visitors to see the scene
in its entirety.
