Tacoma Narrows Video
(force and structure)

This exhibit consists of an I-Mac on a kiosk with a trackball and button control. It allows the viewer to view several sections of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapse at different speeds. This famous video footage is one of the most studied examples of wind induced resonance. It is a helpful aid when explaining bridge design considerations relating to dampening and resistance to resonance.
