Giant Guitar String
(wind, weather and turbulence)

A piece of rope 100 feet long stretches horizontally between two supports. By pulling on the rope at one end, visitors can make waves in the rope. Adjusting the rope tension and varying the agitation frequency creates different wave patterns, revealing resonances, nodes, antinodes, and 180 degree phase shifts as the waves reflect off the fixed end of the rope.
