In this piece, Antero Kare has created a wild, out of control world of mold and microrganisms. Starting with a sculpted form of latex suggestive of a wilderness landscape, the artist concocted a yeasty mixture of oatmeal and yogurt which was then spread thickly across the landscape. A heavy glass enclosure sealed the scene and from there we sat back and watched as different colors, textures, and colonies spread out beneath the glass.
