Slime Trace: A Tale of Two Slimes

In this exhibit, two petri dishes are filled with a rapidly growing saffron-orange slime. As they grow, their tendrils develop into intricate chaotic patterns, similar to the veins of a leaf, or even a humans blood stream!

Above the stands on which the petri dishes sit are enlarged time lapse photos of the slimes as they grow, illustrating how the systems of two separate slimes interweave themselves.
