Well I think a lot of people don't realize that Neanderthals
actually have larger brains than we do.
So often what we think of Neanderthals is that they were very stupid
and somehow went extinct, and it was their own fault because they were stupid.
But this is clearly not the case.
These were humans that were able to survive incredibly harsh conditions
for hundreds of thousands of years.
I like to think of them as very different but they’re also very similar to ourselves.
So it would be fantastic to meet one and see how they thought or how they behaved.
This would be wonderful.
Unfortunately we won’t have that opportunity.
But this idea of Neanderthals being these brutish sort of, I don’t know, primitive people
just doesn’t really reflect the reality at all.
