We have, with big surprise, seen the chimpanzees using such huge sticks.

And these sticks are used by the chimpanzees to pound open, with huge force, high up in the trees,

beehives that are closed with wax produced by the bees.

And they use this big stick to pound a hole through the entrance of these nests.

And when they have succeeded, they would take other types of tools that have different shapes--

ones that have kind of, you know, brush-like ends, ones who have very stumped ends--

and they are trying to perforate their way through these beehives.

I can't tell you exactly what the story is because we have not been able to habituate the chimps

yet to see exactly the sequence of behavior.

But what we know for sure is, already knew, is this kind of succession of different tools

is used to get access to one single food source.

And when we come under these trees, we sometimes see over 80 different sticks on the ground.
