Since
the Exploratorium's inception,
the museum's exhibits and
programs have focused on
human perception: how do
we see, hear, smell, and
otherwise experience the
world around us? Both scientists
and artists can provide insights
into these questions and
the Exploratorium strives
to enhance the role of the
museum as a center of cultural
investigation by including
artists in the investigative
processes involved in understanding
human perception. In order
to fully support artistic
involvement in the process
of investigation, the Exploratorium
invites four to six visual
artists and four to six performing
artists to the Artist-in-Residence
program each year. |
