Christian
Schiess lives in the San
Francisco Bay area and
is a light artist. He was
the recipient of a Fullbright
Arts Fellowship at the
Royal College of Art-London,
England 1990-92. He also
received New Horizon's
Award for innovation in
contemporary art, science
and technology--Leonardo/ISAT-1990.
Schiess
was an Artist-in-Residence
at the Exploratorium during
1981-82 and 1984-85. He
is a graduate of Mills
College (MFA 1979), University
of San Francisco (BFA 1977)
and University of New Mexico
(BA 1970). Since 1987,
Christian Schiess has contributed
many interviews with light
artists to Signs of
the Times magazine.
His works have been exhibited
throughout the United States,
Canada, Europe, Japan,
and Australia. Schiess's
works Cyber
Lumen, Turbo-Flora,
and Lumen
Illusion are on
display at the Exploratorium. |
