Discernablility

Discernibility is an interactive video sculpture that allows one to manipulate images of one’s self. By altering the gray levels, or by stretching their own video portraits, one can do experiments to find out how much information is needed to discern an image. One can also freeze the image, play with the symmetry effect, add delay to the action of the video camera and the monitor, and perform other manipulations to remove or alter information.
