The large bulb in the exhibit give off three kinds of light: visible, ultraviolet, and infrared. Visitors can see the visible light, feel the infrared, and see the effect of the ultraviolet on a flourescent screen. Each type of light is focussed by the large lens, and each is affected differently by the various test filters.
