Pinscreen
uses thousands of pins sandwiched between two perforated
steel sheets to temporarily record shapes. Visitors
press different objects or parts of their body into
the pins to create a three dimensional impression. Pulling
the lever on the side of the exhibit tilts the panel,
erasing the pin images.
