Thoughts, Views, and Strategies for the K-5
Classroom: A monograph for professionals in
science, mathematics, and technology education
Abstract: In 1998, the National Science Foundation asked the Institute for Inquiry to write a book on inquiry and how it can be implemented in K-5 classrooms. The result is this monograph which provides the philosophy behind inquiry and some salient features important to classroom translation. It is meant to be used by classroom teachers, parents, and others interested in inquiry. But it is not a how-to book. It provides background and rationale for inquiry, and some image of how this might look in practice.

The advantage to PDF documents is that they
print out as intended rather than running the
risk of having page breaks in unintended places
