| In the fall of 2003, in partnership with the Sonoma County Museum, we explored the works of artists Charles Ross and James Turrell, who both use light and landscape to create monumental works of compelling beauty. This partnership with the Sonoma County Museum was formed to create a process to help the Sonoma County School District use the installation of James Turrell's Raemar at the Sonoma County Museum as classroom curriculum material. Exploratorium professional development staff members and artist Mildred Howard created a series of workshops, which were held at both the installation and the Exploratorium. The workshops helped teachers develop materials based on the nature of light and astronomical observation. This Web site was developed to provide additional resource materials for teachers and others interested in the relationship between art, light, and geography. Resource Materials for Teachers
