Spirit and Opportunity, the Mars Exploration Rovers, successfully landed on Mars in January 2004. Designed to last 90 Martian days (sols), the two robot geologists have survived for many years. Best of all, they’ve beamed back hundreds of thousands of images, many of which include signs that water once flowed on the red planet.
