Energy Challenges, Nanotech Solutions?
Can nanotechnology help us address the world’s energy needs? Join us at the Exploratorium for a free interactive forum.
Concerns about climate change, rising energy costs, and dwindling natural resources are causing people everywhere to take a closer look at the relationship between human activity and our environment. Nanotechnology holds great promise for addressing these issues—but like any emerging scientific field, it also brings unanswered questions, and perhaps environmental risks. What is nanotechnology, and how do the energy pros and cons balance out?
The Exploratorium invites you to participate in a free interactive forum designed to explore these issues in an informal participatory way. In this forum, participants work together to make energy decisions—discussing new alternatives, weighing environmental benefits, and addressing potential drawbacks. Should more funding be dedicated to existing technologies and conservation, or should we throw our weight behind new nanotechnologies? Explore how this exciting field may provide revolutionary answers to some of the world’s deepest energy questions.
This free evening event is designed for adults, so bring your questions, concerns, and curiosity and join this engaging and thought-provoking discussion. No prior knowledge or scientific background is necessary. Coffee and dessert will be provided. This forum is FREE, but space is limited, so please register in advance.
