Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum in London (NHM) is home to some 70 million specimens—botanical to mineralogical—collected the world over. Founded in 1753, NHM houses five libraries, an amazing SEM (scanning electron microscope) lab, genetics and anatomy labs, microbiology facilities, and, of course, the researchers who use these tools in their work.

“I see the Natural History Museum moving much more into the world of influencing policy, and influencing the way we conserve what’s left of the very important biological resources that we have on earth.” —Chris Minty, Las Cuevas Research Station Manager
