present a live webcast about this new mission on Wednesday, May 28th, at 1pm, and then offer an update on June 27, 2008, at 1:30pm. Exploratoriun senior scientist Paul Doherty will explain this latest expedition, and show some of the new photographs from Mars, if all goes well. Mars Phoenix Lander Mission

Learn more about the new mission to Mars. The Mars Phoenix Lander will land on the Red Planet on Sunday, May 25th, 2008, and if all goes well, begin collecting data. Phoenix is designed to study the history of water and habitability potential in the Martian arctic's ice-rich soil. Join Exploratorium Senior Scientist Paul Doherty as he walks us through the mission and show us the first pictures that the Phoenix Lander sends back.

Update on the Mars Phoenix Lander

It's been a month and the Mars Phoenix Lander has been collecting data and sending it back to Earth. Exploratorium Senior Scientist Paul Doherty will examine the data and tell us what more the scientists have learned about Mars. We'll also get an update on our old friends, the Mars Rovers Spirit and Opportunity!

The Exploratorium is located inside the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco's Marina District. Exploratorium hours are TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY 10am–5pm, CLOSED MONDAYS, except for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day.
