Children's Science Classes for Members Playing with Geometry

Sunday, March 16

Send your favorite kid to some cool science classes! Classes described below are for members of the Exploratorium at $30 each. Sign up online at www.exploratorium.edu/membership/classes.html. Questions? Please call (415) 561-0302 or email member@exploratorium.edu. The schedule is as follows:

Ages 3-4 with an Adult Companion

Bubbles, hula-hoops, and balls -- they are all shaped like circles. We will explore everything about circles in this class. Please bring in your favorite circle object from home for show-and-tell.

Ages 5-6
Messing with Mirrors

Come with play with mirrors and see the world reflected in funny and exciting ways. We’ll use our new geometry exhibits as a jumping off point for our own explorations of light and reflection.

Ages 7-9
Tessellation Station

Come use math to make amazing art. We will better understand our three-dimensional tessellating exhibit by making our own two-dimensional tessellating art.

Ages 10-12
Patterns, Math, and Nature

Explore deeper the science behind our more complex geometry exhibits and learn how mathematics influences patterns and shapes in nature.
