Exploratorium Day of Children’s Science Classes

On Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Exploratorium, children can explore wind in a day of science classes. Families must be Exploratorium members to participate. Sign up online at www.exploratorium.edu/membership or call (415) 561-0302 for further information. The class schedule is as follows:

Ages 3-4, with an Adult Companion



Can you think of things that move or make sound when the wind blows? We will create and play with all kinds of things that need wind to make them go.

Ages 5-6


Wind-Powered Wonders

Together we will use our creativity to discover the effects of wind on objects that we make.

Ages 7-9


Set Sail

Build a little sailboat and experiment with wind and different types of sails. Weather permitting, we will test them out at the pond.

Ages 10-12


Crazy for Currents

In this class we will do a series of experiments to understand what makes air move. We will find ways to see convection currents in action and relate this to the weather that we experience everyday

Hours of Operation & New Evening Hours
Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm;  every Thursday evening adults only (ages 18 and up) 6pm-10pm.

$29 for adults, with lower rates for SF Bay Area residents, youth, seniors, students, teachers and the disabled. Tickets available at the door and advance tickets available online at www.exploratorium.edu/visit/tickets.
