Exploratorium Day of Science Classes

June 9, 2007
For Members Only

As the sounds of spring migrate towards summer, children can explore the science of sound and music at the Exploratorium at a day of science classes on June 9. Families must be Exploratorium members to participate. The class schedule is as follows:

Ages 3-4 (with an adult companion)

It takes many different sounds to make up a song. In this class, you’ll learn some songs with movements to sing, and play musical sounds with everyday objects.

Ages 5-6
Sound and Rhythm

What kinds of things make musical sounds? You’ll learn tricks to making interesting sounds and have a variety of materials to work with to make your own percussive instrument to take home.

Ages 7-12
Sound Workshop
Build a sound device that plays when you turn the gears! You’ll record sounds and music that you find or make, then take home a CD of your songs.
