Exploratorium Day of Science Classes

As the sounds of spring migrate towards summer, children can explore the science of sound and music at the Exploratorium at a day of science classes on June 9. Families must be Exploratorium members to participate. The class schedule is as follows:

Ages 3-4 (with an adult companion)
2-3pm
Songs

It takes many different sounds to make up a song. In this class, you’ll learn some songs with movements to sing, and play musical sounds with everyday objects.

Ages 5-6
2-4pm
Sound and Rhythm

What kinds of things make musical sounds? You’ll learn tricks to making interesting sounds and have a variety of materials to work with to make your own percussive instrument to take home.

Ages 7-12
2-4pm
Sound Workshop
Build a sound device that plays when you turn the gears! You’ll record sounds and music that you find or make, then take home a CD of your songs.

Hours of Operation & New Evening Hours
Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm;  every Thursday evening adults only (ages 18 and up) 6pm-10pm.

Admission
$29 for adults, with lower rates for SF Bay Area residents, youth, seniors, students, teachers and the disabled. Tickets available at the door and advance tickets available online at www.exploratorium.edu/visit/tickets.
