Girls Science Institute: March 26 - 30, 2012

Girls Science Institute: Engineering
Monday, March 26  through Friday, March 30, 2012
9 am – 4 pm

From Marie Curie, the scientist who pioneered research in radioactivity, to Rita Levi-Montalcini, the Nobel laureate neurologist who discovered the nerve growth factor, female scientists have altered the course of history. During Spring Break (March 26 - 30, 2012), girls ages 10 through 12 years old can dive into chemical, mechanical, structural and electrical engineering in this five-day workshop.  They will explore the lives of women who had significant impact on the field, and discover science through hands-on activities. Women experts from a variety of engineering fields will share their stories, and support the campers during their engineering explorations. The week culminates in a group engineering challenge. Scholarships are available. $315 Members; $365 Nonmembers.
