The Magic of 1 - November 2011

One Day Camp:  The Magic of 1
For ages 7 – 10 years
9 am – 4 pm, Friday, November 11, 2011

From the fabulous unicorn with its singular horn to the mythic Cyclops with its one eye, there is plenty of magic surrounding the concept of ‘one’. On Friday, November 11, from 9 am to 4 pm, young explorers, ages 7 – 10 years old,  can learn some science behind the magic of ‘1’ when they join us on the amazing date of 11/11/11.   We’ll look at single-celled organisms, do some binary counting, separate hydrogen (atomic number 1) from water, and find out why ‘1’ is far from being the loneliest number. Camp always includes games, art-making as well as free time with our exhibits before the museum opens to the public. Don’t worry - you won’t be playing solitaire!   For ages 7 – 10 years, $85 ( $70 for members).
