Come to the Exploratorium this summer for Physics of Toys. On Saturdays, July 19th and August 16th, make your own gadgets that capture the power of the sun, and then design and build paddleboats and film-can racers. All materials are provided, and visitors can take home what they make. Physics of Toys is included in the price of admission to the Exploratorium. The scheduled is as follows:

Physics of Toys: Fun in the Sun
Saturday, July 19, 2008

What better way to prepare for the total solar eclipse on August 1 than by playing with your own solar toys? Join the team in making solar-powered gadgets and solar system toys.

Physics of Toys: Engineering in Motion

How do you get from here to there? By car? Boat? Plane? Step into the shoes of an engineer with the Physics of Toys team and design and build your own paddleboat, film-can racers, and hovercraft.

On the third Saturday of every month, the Exploratorium presents Physics of Toys, an interactive laboratory that explores toys in a one-on-one workshop in which children and adults alike investigate the science of everyday things.
