Art/Science Workshop: Take a Moment
Sunday, June 12, 2011
9:30 am-12:30 pm & 1:30-4:30 pm

The way we see is fragmented: Our eyes receive a series of snapshots that we piece together into movement. On Sunday, June 12, join us for Take a Moment. During this Art/Science Workshop, we’ll visit the Exploratorium’s Seeing Gallery and talk about perception of movement. Then, we’ll make stop-motion animations using basic techniques that are easy to replicate at home. The morning family workshop (for families with children 8+), from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and focuses on creating a story, while the afternoon adult workshop (18+), from 1:30 to 4:30 pm, centers on pushing the medium of stop-motion animation beyond the expected.

Preregistration required. Go to http://www.exploratorium.edu/art-workshops; Individuals are $35 (members $25), families (for up to four people) are $80 (members $55).
