Winter Break Camp: Flying Things - December 2011

The annual winter break from school can be a great opportunity to keep curiosity alive for young children and bring inspiration even on a cold, rainy day. During December 19 – 23, 2011, the Exploratorium is offering Winter Break Camp, a full week of daily discoveries and hands-on making fun for kids ages 7 to 10 years old. This year’s theme, Flying Things, will focus on investigating the physics of flight by exploring airplanes, rockets, parachutes, and then building  things that fly. Winter Break Camp: Flying Things will provide playful and creative opportunities for young explorers to investigate the world through a mix of activities, art projects, group games and more. Campers have exclusive access to the museum each morning before it opens as well as time outdoors in the surrounding areas. Extended care is available from 8:30 – 9 am, and from 4 –5:30 pm. Cost for this camp is $365 non-members ($315 members). For more information, visit http://www.exploratorium.edu/camps or call (415) 561-0399.
