Many TI Alums asked us to start a Teacher Institute listserv. Its name is Pinhole. (Remember all those experiments we did with pinholes?!) The Pinhole Listserv (Pinhole) is an Internet list that provides an ongoing exchange of ideas and questions for alumni teacher colleagues of the Exploratorium Teacher Institute. It is a way to practice new approaches with support from each other and from museum faculty and staff. You could, for example, ask a science question, put out a call for exciting activities or let colleagues know about an interesting happening.

There are two ways to join Pinhole, Regular or Digest. With a Regular subscription, you receive every message that is sent to the listserv, message by message, as each is sent to the listserv. With a Digest Subscription, your address will be added to the list of subscribers who receive a daily digest of all messages.

To subscribe to Pinhole, go to:
http://www.exo.net/mailman/listinfo/pinhole

To post messages to the members of the Pinhole list, send your email to:
pinhole@isaac.exploratorium.edu

YOU MUST BE SUBSCRIBED TO THE LIST IN ORDER TO SEND MESSAGES TO IT.

General information about the mailing list is at:

Pinhole Guidelines
  1. Pinhole is distributed to a limited audience - TI Alumni (Don't give out sign-up information to non-TI Alumni).
  2. The purpose of this listerserv is for you to discuss math, science and education, but variations are OK.
  3. Got a question, comment, observation, joke, announcement or opinion? Post it.
  4. Got an answer, response or better joke; post it.
  5. Try not to get too mad at anyone on the listserv; disagreement isn't always a bad thing. (We find comfort with those that agree with us and we find growth with those who don't).
  6. If you read something you agree or disagree with and you see the person that posted it at a Saturday Workshop or Summer Session, talk about things over a bagel and coffee.
  7. No Spam, profanity or advertisements.
  8. This service is for you. Use it to grow as a person, professional or even find out where a good restaurant is located.
