Join host Sarah Cahill as she interviews innovator, musician, and composer Roscoe Mitchell. Program 2 of the Resonance series at the Exploratorium. Musician and comedian Reggie Watts improvises in the Sound Column at the Exploratorium's former home using only his voice and a looping machine. As part of the festivities in honor of the Exploratorium's opening at Pier 15, Obscura Digital, internationally recognized creative technology innovators, transformed the historic façade of Pier 15 into a spectacular, interactive odyssey through micro and macro phenomena on multiple time scales. As a part of the Exploratorium's opening ceremonies, Miwa Matreyek performed in our Outdoor Gallery on April 17, 2013. In her live performance, Matreyek interacted with beautifully expressed cinematic narratives that unfolded as wondrous journeys, exploring nature and the human imagination.

At our last After Dark in our current home, the theme was Mars! On display the museum has a full-scale model of the Mars rover Curiosity, which arrived on the red planet Sunday, August 5. At After Dark, we had Martians, robots, and extraterrestrials in the crowd! There were Martian themed lectures, a live webcast, and activities like the Egg Drop, where visitors practiced landing a homemade Rover safely onto the ground. Red skies at night offer fun and delight.
