Press Video/Audio Preview Collection
This is a subset of clips within the Exploratorium TV archive which are recommended for the Press. We've organized preview clips of exhibits, events, and b-roll, along with related press releases and website links for easy reference. Please visit the Exploratorium Press Center for the latest press releases, press kits, and image sets, and to sign up for our press information list.

To request video, please follow these steps.
  1. Email: images@exploratorium.edu.
  2. Include the name of your broadcast station and preferred format.
  3. If you desire video to be sent overnight, include your overnight service account number as well as your address and phone.
    4. We will reply by email and provide video promptly if your request meets our definition of working media.
Note: We make video available ONLY to members of the media working on stories about the Exploratorium. To discuss use rights for any other purpose, please contact permissions@exploratorium.edu.

All wound up with nothing to do? Swing by the Exploratorium on September 6th, beginning at 10am, for the 2008 California State Yo-Yo Championships. Meet National and World Yo-Yo Champions, watch daredevil tricks, and learn basic techniques from yo-yo masters. This event is included in the price of admission to the Exploratorium. Solar Eclipse:  Live from China (Webcast)

On August 1, 2008, a total solar eclipse occurred as the new moon moved directly between the sun and the earth. The moon's umbral shadow fell on parts of Canada, Greenland, the Arctic Ocean, Russia, Mongolia, and China. The Exploratorium's eclipse expedition team (our fifth!) Webcast the eclipse live from the remote Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China near the Mongolian border.

An Exploratorium and NASA Sun-Earth Connection Education Forum Event

Overnight eclipse viewing party at Exploratorium begins July 31, 2008 at 9pm. and continues through Friday, August 1 in the wee hours.

San Francisco's Exploratorium brings its fifth eclipse expedition team to remote Xinjiang Province in Northwestern China, very close to the Mongolian border, where the Exploratorium will webcast a total solar eclipse live to the world. Spend the Night at the Exploratorium! See the eclipse in person live at the Exploratorium. Pack your sleeping bag and camp out on the museum floor for an overnight eclipse party...or come to the viewing party in Second Life and enjoy the live webcast, exhibits, and music.

Science, technology, art, and fashion converge at a runway fashion show at the Exploratorium on Friday, April 25, 2008, 7-11pm. The 2nd Skin Clothesline Exhibit debuts that evening; the event also features two artists at work on their creations.
