View some of the spectacular underwater footage captured by the Little Hercules ROV on July 1 during the Indonesia-USA Deep-Sea Exploration Expedition.

Join the Exploratorium as we connect live for the first time with NOAA's newest ship, the Okeanos Explorer. The Okeanos is on its maiden voyage, traveling from Hawaii to Indonesia. We will talk with scientists on the ship and discover what kind of research they are conducting.

NOAA Chief Scientist Steve Hammond and Okeanos Commander Joe Pica introduce us to the capabilities of the new NOAA research vessel, the Okeanos Explorer, as it sets out on its maiden voyage to Indonesia. ROV footage and maps courtesy of NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration and Research.

In June, 2010, the Exploratorium will launch it's newest exhibition, Geometry Playground. Check out this teaser clip and come back for more on June 25th, 2010.

The Exploratorium Eclipse team drives back to Urumqi with our partners from XJTV, after the live broadcast. It was pretty hot, probably above 40 °C most of the way, and a 14 hour drive. This is a time-compressed video of of the trip out to the Weizi Gorge (Yiwu) along China’s cloud-covered Silk Road.

While in the field, the Exploratorium Eclipse remote team had a love/hate relationship with the clouds. The cloudscape of the Weizi Gorge was so spectacular it was easy to overlook that our fluffy friends could have potentially blocked our main reason for lugging 1700 lbs. of gear out to the edge of the Gobi Desert-the total solar eclipse! This is a short time-lapse video of the sky at our camp one day before the eclipse.

Get a special sneak peek at the Exploratorium's lab. Living Systems' Caitlin Johnson shares this space where public is not allowed. Today's Live from the Lab highlights the museum's "warm room," where plants are grown, eggs are incubated, and zebrafish are farmed. Th Exploratorium's lab is an unusual museum feature, allowing a greater variety of programs and exhibits about biology.

On March 1st, we connected live with scientists aboard the scientific drilling vessel the JOIDES Resolution off the coast of Antarctica. Meet geologists Rob Dunbar, Carlota Escutia, and Christina Riesselman and learn about their historic expedition to Antarctica that is helping reveal the history of Earth's climate and teaching us about our climate future.
