Klikkers Tünde Vollenbroek and Mathijs Stegink and animation director Joost Lieuwma (Things You'd Better Not Mix Up, Leaving Home) join us in person to present Dutch Delights, a program featuring the best animated shorts and commercials created in the Netherlands today.
The Netherlands has a successful history of animated shorts thanks to big names such as Paul Driessen (3 Misses), Borge Ring (Anna and Bella) and Michael Dudok de Wit (Father and Daughter), but it wasn't until some years ago that the sector really started to flourish. Despite recent financial cutbacks, the Netherlands Film Fund continues to invest in animation, supporting dozens of animated films a year, and Dutch animation students continue to achieve incredible successes online. Dutch Delights offers a look into this fascinating era in which Holland's animated shorts sector proves to be unique, qualitative, versatile, and bursting with young talent.
