Note: This exclusive tour is offered to Members only. Enter the Exploratorium through the museum’s historic Pier 15 Bulkhead for this special, before-hours event.
See the San Francisco Bay in a brand new way! The Exploratorium has made its new home on the bay, but the institution and the estuary have a long history together. Both within our walls and outside the building, the Exploratorium has crafted exhibits and collaborated with partners to foster new interactions with the bay as a way of deepening our understanding of environmental science and the complex ecosystems in the water around us.
On the Diving Into the Water tour we will explore the partnerships that have both driven new curricula and have helped bring the Exploratorium to audiences beyond Pier 15. Join us and learn about the development of exhibits that explore the environment, landscape, and living systems, as well as the green technology that uses water from the San Francisco Bay to heat and cool Pier 15.
Our Members-only Saturday Morning Tours give Exploratorium Members a special chance to have the museum to themselves before we open to the public. These 45-minute tours meet at 9:30 a.m., allowing for uninterrupted exploration in the museum’s galleries before the museum opens to the public at 10:00 a.m.
