Open your eyes to new perspectives of your windows to the world! The Exploratorium is a hands-on science museum with an emphasis on perceptual experiences and exhibits that focus on one or more of the five senses. Seeing Inside the Eye explores the mechanics of sight and the science of eyes using optical exhibits and demonstrations. Guests will have the opportunity to see parts of their eyes that are not always visible, watch a dissection, find out why there are no docents at the Exploratorium, and learn about the team of staff members that are constantly engaged in both teaching and learning.

Our Saturday Morning Tours give Exploratorium members a special chance to have the museum to themselves before we open to the public. These 45-minute tours meet at 9:30 a.m.—this allows for uninterrupted exploration in the museum’s galleries before the museum opens to the public at 10:00 a.m.
