This is a subset of clips within the explo.tv archive which are recommended for the Press. We've organized preview clips of exhibits, events, and b-roll, along with related press releases and website links for easy reference. Please visit the Exploratorium Press Center for the latest press releases, press kits, and image sets, and to sign up for our press information list.

To request video, please follow these steps.
  1. Email: images@exploratorium.edu.
  2. Include the name of your broadcast station and preferred format.
  3. If you desire video to be sent overnight, include your overnight service account number as well as your address and phone.
  4. We will reply by email and provide video promptly if your request meets our definition of working media.
Note: We make video available ONLY to members of the media working on stories about the Exploratorium. To discuss use rights for any other purpose, please contact permissions@exploratorium.edu.

Exploratorium at the Piers:  Connector Building Demolition at the Piers (Clip)

Construction at the Exploratorium's new home on the Embarcadero began in October 2010. Over a three day span in November 2010, the existing non-historic connector building on the east end of Piers 15 and 17 was demolished, revealing for the first time in 55 years a view out to the Bay.

The film Between the Folds is a 2009 work by filmmaker Vanessa Gould. Between the Folds chronicles ten artists and scientists who have devoted time to the unlikely medium of modern origami. Vanessa Gould, who has degrees in physics and architecture, explores the expression of mathematics through origami. She became captivated by the art and science of transforming sheets of paper into three-dimensional geometric shapes and exposed a hidden subculture. The film will screen at the Exploratorium on Saturday, October 18th, at 2pm.
