Ancient Observatories:
Chaco Canyon
The ancient Puebloan Indians who inhabited the Southwest United
States were accomplished astronomers. With a live feed from Chaco
Canyon, New Mexico, hosts Linda Shore and Ron Hipschman investigate
the solar alignments built into the ancient buildings there. Learn
how the ancient Puebolans learned about the movements of the sun,
what these movements meant to them, and why solar research is still
important today.
