Dr. Laurie Olshansky was born in Moscow and emigrated to America with her family when she was four, ultimately settling in Wellesley, a suburb of Boston. She graduated with an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University, then attended Ross University Veterinary School and Louisiana State University, where she completed her clinical year. After an internship in Los Angeles, Laurie returned to San Francisco, working full-time at Pets Unlimited prior to the birth of her first child.
Laurie currently works pro bono at the San Francisco SPCA (Pacific Heights campus), providing veterinary care to PAWS, an organization that provides veterinary care for people with low income and disabling illnesses. In addition, the Olshansky family created the “Helping Hand” Fund for the benefit of PAWS clients. Laurie and her husband, Josh, live in San Francisco with their three children.
