This Thursday: Dance to the Cosmic Beats of Hieroglyphic Being

Dance to the cosmic transmissions of Hieroglyphic Being, a.k.a. Jamal Moss, whose album The Disco’s of Imhotep was rated one of the top 10 albums of 2016 by The Washington Post. Live music starts at 7:30 p.m. and continues until closing at 10:00 p.m.

Inspired and seeded by Afrofuturist concepts, Moss’s singular vision draws from Chicago house music and free jazz to create what he calls “synth expressionism” and “rhythmic cubism.” A tireless producer and performer, he views each performance as a conversation with his listeners, a space to share the latest incarnations of his future-forward sound.

“When it comes to techno's outer limits, there are dabblers, there are explorers, and then there's Hieroglyphic Being.”  —Pitchfork
