Night Signal

Night Signal is a video work that overlays three projections to create a hypnotic and ever-changing composition. Images of industrial fluorescents flicker within the angular halos of overlapping projector frames. As your eyes struggle to adjust to the resulting strobe effect, you may notice hidden colors emerge or the surrounding frames drop away. Through its perceptual demands, Night Signal recalls the experimental tradition of flicker films, and reveals the powerful allure of an experience as commonplace as switching a light on and off each day.
