3rd NGSS STEM Conference

Infusing Art into STEM: Crafting a STEAM Curriculum

Saturday, November 22, 2014
Exploratorium, Pier 15

Note: Registration is limited to 200 middle- and high-school science teachers.

Our third conference focused on STEAMing up the classroom by integrating art into activities that teach authentic STEM content in ways that support the NGSS. Exploratorium founder Frank Oppenheimer called artists and scientists the official "noticers" of society. By integrating art into STEM activities, teachers help engage all students in their explorations of the natural world. Learn more about the conference workshop choices.

This daylong conference featured a plenary session, a choice of three hands-on workshops, and classroom activities to engage students and meet the new standards. Lunch was included, and teachers left with handouts of the activities covered in all of the sessions. One (1) semester-unit of Continuing Education credit was also available for an additional fee (paid at the conference).
