Exploratorium’s annual Latinx Engineering Day returns September 25th

SAN FRANCISCO (September 12, 2022) – The Exploratorium, in partnership with the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), will host its 23rd annual Día de la Ingeniería/Latinx Engineering Day on Sunday, September 25, 2022. The event features a panel discussion with Latinx engineers moderated by Univision TV/radio host Glorybella Orellana, presentations from Latinx participants across contemporary engineering fields, live music and dance performances, and playful hands-on activities for all ages. This annual program is conducted bilingually in Spanish and English and provides opportunities for families to meet with prominent engineers in the Latinx community.

  • WHEN:    Sunday, September 25, 2022; 10 a.m. to noon for museum members and donors and members of the Latinx community who are especially invited through SHPE and the Exploratorium; General public is welcome from noon to 5 p.m. 

The Exploratorium also offers a collection of free hands-on, teacher-tested activities in Spanish: Bocadillos científicos, and has over 300 Science Snacks covering a wide range of scientific topics, concepts and subjects. Masks are required for all visitors ages 2+.
