AIA NEXT @ The Exploratorium - 2 week countdown!
by Adam Green • October 30, 2015
We're two weeks away from the AIA NEXT conference coming to the Exploratorium! We're excited to host the opening "deep dive" session. From AIA, here's more info about the conference:
What’s NEXT in the world of Design? Paola Antonelli, Curator of Architecture & Design at the Museum of Modern Art New York, will offer her thoughts as part of a keynote address at the inaugural American Institute of Architects, San Francisco (AIASF) NEXT Conference on November 13, 2015.
Paola Antonelli’s presentation, The New Frontiers of Design, will explore how design has branched out in new directions, galvanizing young practitioners, sparking novel business models, and attracting worldwide attention. AIASF’s NEXT Conference is a two-day educational and networking event in San Francisco on November 12-13, 2015. Featuring over 50 leaders in the building and design industries, the conference will feature dynamic conversation and knowledge sharing about the future of the built environment. AIASF NEXT serves as a platform to build relationships, generate clients, and discover new ideas.
“With the support and participation of our allied community partners, NEXT will be a truly interdisciplinary experience that leverages the collective knowledge of professionals involved at every level of the Bay Area’s built environment,” comments AIASF Executive Director Jennifer Jones, CAE.
Hosted at the Exploratorium, San Francisco’s leading museum for continuing exploration, Thursday’s pre-conference deep-dive will feature an in-depth discussion focused on placemaking and its potential to positively influence the creative process through community engagement. Following a three-track system, the second day of the conference on Friday November 13 will take attendees to the San Francisco County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park for concurrent break-out sessions on the latest in design, business, and technology.
“San Francisco is recognized as a leading hub for innovative design leaders and we are excited to bring everyone together to share ideas that will impact the next generation of the architecture and design profession as well as the future of the built environment,” says Irving Gonzales, 2015 AIASF President.
