We're excited to announce that we'll be joining a stellar partnership between Green Streets, Citizen Film, the Trust for Public Land and San Francisco Rec and Park to support the design and fabrication of a 'catalyst' project at Buchanan Mall park. Buchanan Mall, located between Eddy Street and Grove, runs five blocks and is adjacent to the African-American Arts and Culture Center and Rosa Parks Senior Center in the Western Addition.

Green Streets, a grassroots social enterprise working to improve the environment, has been working in the neighborhood and around Buchanan Mall since 2010 to support the waste management of the local public housing and create jobs for the community. To date, recycling in communities served by Green Streets has risen from nearly 0% to 50%, with more the 1.5 million gallons of waste being diverted from landfills. In partnering with the Trust for Public Land and Citizen Film, Green Streets hopes to continue to support the Western Addition community by creating more opportunities for local residents to connect.

We'll be starting to support their vision for what would make a better Buchanan Mall this Spring and Summer. Check back in for updates as the project progresses! In the meantime, be sure to check out our partners' websites for more information.
