Sound Commons At SF’s UN Plaza, people come together to explore sound, changing the tenor of this public space. Ciencia Pública: Agua This parklet exploring the science of water lives outside a school in SF’s Mission neighborhood. Buchanan Mall We helped local residents envision a safe, green, well-used park—and then build it. National Aquarium SPS worked with the aquarium in Baltimore to plan exhibits along their waterfront site. Project: SPS: Piers 15/17 Visitors to the Exploratorium's new home on the piers enjoy exhibits that illuminate and capture outdoor phenomena: light, wind, tides, and more. Project: SPS: Jewel Changi Airport The Studio for Public Spaces partnered with PWP Landscape Architecture to support the design of attractions at Jewel Changi Airport’s Canopy Park. Chime-Way A San Leandro plaza has new seating and interactive chimes. People-watching / Pier 9 For this experiment in social space-making, we paired playful, moveable seating with hints on people-watching and how to observe the interesting human interactions that occur. Fort Mason At this site, our first major outdoors installation, the exhibits encourage visitors to become expert noticers of the natural and built world. (Exhibits deinstalled July 2015) Wave Wall Fronting the LIGO Science Center, this wall of magnetically-coupled rods is driven by the wind. It self-organizes into large, rippling wave forms. Emeryville Public Market Exhibits on wind, sand, history, and sustainability turn a trip to a local shopping center into a rich exploration of place. Presidio Gateway Working with CMG Architecture, SPS helped develop conceptual designs and programming for 10 acres of new parkland in San Francisco's Presidio. Golden Gate Bridge At the Golden Gate Bridge, interactive exhibits let visitors explore its dynamic nature.
