In light of recent advisories issued by the San Francisco Mayor’s Office and the California Department of Public Health related to slowing the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we have decided to postpone Afterglow (previously scheduled for Friday, May 1) to Friday, June 26, 2020. In the event that public gatherings are not permitted in June, we will instead produce a special virtual experience highlighting the Exploratorium’s mission and the impact that can be enjoyed remotely.
As you can imagine, closure of the museum has created an economic challenge for the Exploratorium, as it has for so many. Your support is more needed now than ever before.
We are aggressively ramping up an effort to share our valuable learning experiences online during this time. Ticket purchases for Afterglow help support both this online work and the Exploratorium’s broader mission to transform learning worldwide. In the event that Afterglow moves to a digital experience, we hope that you will consider the price of your ticket an unrestricted contribution to the Exploratorium.
