Tinkering Tinkerer: Eric Rosenbaum

Eric Rosenbaum loves to tinker with music. He recently completed his doctorate at the MIT Media Lab’s Lifelong Kindergarten group, with a dissertation called “Explorations in Musical Tinkering.” He is the co-inventor with Jay Silver of the MaKey MaKey invention kit. Eric's Website
His other projects have included Singing Fingers, an iPad app for finger painting with sound; Glowdoodle software for painting with light and sharing your creation; MelodyMorph, an iPad app for creating your own musical instruments and playable compositions; and BeetleBlocks, a simple programming language for 3D design and fabrication. Eric has been a long time collaborator with the Tinkering Studio. The very first workshop with what later became known as the Makey Makey took place here, contributing some early inspiration to the project. More recently we have been playing around and finding new ways to use his "Make Your Toys Talk" kit. We have also been experimenting and having lots of fun with BeetleBlocks, using it to design 3D prints and algorithmic watercolor paintings.
